Shri Ram Engineering College Secured First Position in National Volleyball Tournament in Both Boys and Girls Categories

Shri Ram Engineering College has secured winning title in both boys and girls categories in National Volleyball Tournament organized by Birla Institute of Technology in Goa. About 16 teams in male category and total 7 teams in female category were participated in this remarkable tournament, where captain of boys’ team was Mr. Ajay Dubey, while Miss Anjali Yadav was responsible for leading the girls’ team in the volleyball competition.

Under the leadership and guidance of Mr. Ajay, boys’ team of Shri Ram Engineering College defeated teams of NIT Calicut, S. J. C. Kerala and C.O.I. of Pune in the quarterfinals and thereby, grabbed its position for the semi final phase. In the semi final round, Shri Ram Engineering College team played against MIT Pune team, where SRIT players defeated players of MIT Pune by 3-0 and enter the final tournament.

In the final tournament, Shri Ram Engineering College team competed with the players of Delhi Arts and Commerce College. Here, SRIT players have secured winnings by facing big challenges and finally, succeeded to win the Championship Trophy by scoring 25-19, 25-21, 23-25 and 24-20 in different rounds.

Winning team (Shri Ram Engineering College volleyball team) received award from Prof. Dr. Sunil Ghose, the Chancellor of Birla Institute of Technology Goa. Dr. Ghose also gave awards to Ajay Dubey, Himanshu Singh, Abhinav Pali, Avdhesh Sodhiya, Saurav Avasthi, Nihaal Rathore, Vipin Patel, Sahil Bakshi, Praveen Chakraborty, Amit Puri, Nitesh Dubey, Abhimanyu Pradhan and Deepak Gupta, all of whom played leading role to secure winning of Shri Ram Engineering College.

On the other side, in girls category semi final was played in between Shri Ram Engineering College and Birla Institute of Technology (BITS) Goa, where SRIT girls won by 2-0 and entered the final phase. During the final match, Shri Ram Engineering College girls secured 3-0 against J.M.C. Delhi and thereby, secured winnings in the National Volleyball Tournament. Anjali Soni, Sunita Kushwala, Soumya and Kalpana had shown outstanding performance in the entire tournament to make Shri Ram Engineering College the winner.

Abhinav Pali in male category and Anjali Yadav in female category received Best Player of the Tournament Award during the National Volleyball Tournament held in Goa. All students have undergone their game practices under the leadership of Games and Sports Coach Mr. Pankaj Kushwaha.

Even the tournament organizers congratulated Sports Manager Harvinder Singh, Director General Dr. S. P. Kosta, Sangeeta Kushwaha and Group Director Dr. L. K. Patel, Prof. Dr. R. P. Bhatele, Director Noel George, Dr. Avinash Gaur, Biplab Pal, NCC Officer Dr. Pradeep Dubey and Chairman R. Karsoliya for remarkable success of students in the popular National Games and Sports Event.
